Down on the Farm | Trader's Point Creamery Fall Mini Sessions | Indianapolis Family Photographer

I was super excited when I received permission to hold fall mini sessions at Trader's Point Creamery.  My family discovered this place maybe 5 years ago and we have enjoyed living so close to it.  For those of you that don't know, it's a working dairy farm where their cows are 100% grassfed and they are free to graze the pastures.  They produce and sell several YUMMY dairy products - milk, yogurt, cheese, and my personal favorite - ice cream.  There is a farm-to-table restaurant on location - The Loft - and my husband and I seem to end up there on special occasions.  And in addition to all of this, they have several fun events on the grounds throughout the year.  Some popular ones are Octoberfest and Christmas on the Farm.  Seriously, if you haven't been there - check it out!

The mini's were held on a beautiful Sunday in the peak of fall.  The sun was shining, the leaves were gorgeous and the cows were entertaining to the young kids (and the adults).  I believe all of my clients enjoyed this location, especially since most went up to the Dairy Bar for some ice cream afterwards.  Fun quick photo shoot and ice cream - who could ask for more??!!

The mini shoot marathon started out with the Bash sisters: Mara, Becka, and Greta.  The Bash family moved here from Idaho a couple years ago.  Yes, I said Idaho!  I know there are things they miss about living in the west but I hope they are enjoying the Midwestern hospitality here in Indy.  These girls were too much fun and they were a wonderful way to start out my sessions.

My next session was with an old co-worker of mine - Patricia.  She brought along her daughter, Lexi and her mom.  I worked with Patricia almost 7 years ago so it was great to see her and also so wonderful to see how much Lexi had grown up.  They have a wonderful mother-daughter relationship and it was also sweet to capture the three generations photos.

The King family was next.  Melissa and her husband, Jeremy, have two cutie and energetic girls, Raegan and Marlow.   Melissa is also my hairdresser and I owe her not only for doing an awesome job on my hair each time I visit her, but also allowing me to advertise on her workstation.  I'm grateful for her partnership in this and I have landed a couple sessions from her.  Totally grateful!!!  Seriously, if you are looking for a great hairdresser in the Zionsville area, message me and I'll get you her information.  It took me about 10 years in Indy before I found someone I like - so that says a lot about her skills and personality.  (:

The Malenkos family pretty much mirrors my own.  Family of four with 2 young boys - and to top it off, their boys are almost the exact same ages as mine - maybe a few months off.  So I knew what I was going to get - a couple of rambunctious boys running around challenging me to snap some shots.  Well mission accomplished, William and Andrew - you can't run from me!  (:  Justin and Eugenia have a beautiful, busy family.  (:

The nightcap consisted of the Bucken kids.  I met mom, Patty, at the Pike YMCA.  Their youngest Gwen turned three in November and they wanted to get some photos of her.  Then we let all of the kids join in the photo fun!  They have four kids in total: Madeline, Eli, Henry, and little Gwen.  I seriously love large families - the kids all have such different personalities and it's fun to see how the older ones kind of take care of the younger ones (and well, tease them sometimes).  Thanks to the Bucken's for participating in my mini's - it was a pleasure!

There was one more session that I'll have to blog about after the holiday's as they wanted their photos to be a surprise for Christmas cards.  I can't blame them because they were super cute!  So stay tuned for that.

I was so blessed to have a full schedule that day and I had so much fun meeting new friends and catching up with some old ones.  This photography business has been an incredible journey so far, mainly due to my amazing clients.  I hope to build on these relationships in the years to come as I continue to grow my business, creative skills and client-base.  A huge thanks to Trader's Point Creamery for providing such an awesome location and for being a great presence in the community.
