Spring Mini Sessions 2019

Scheduling spring mini sessions is like trying to read Mother Nature’s mind…..when will the blossoms, warmth and greens be back? I am not a mind reader but I will do my best based on past history. I am offering two different sessions this year on different dates - one evening and one morning. Locations will be determined and communicated at a later time but I typically hold sessions on the NW side of Indy, Zionsville, or in the Carmel area but I may toy with the idea of shooting downtown on the canal if it’s not green enough, at least for the April session.

April 28 - evening - SOLD OUT!

May 19 - morning 6:50am, 7:15am

Details of the sessions:

- 20 minutes

- 8 edited digitals

- $175

- option to upgrade for $50 to receive all edited digitals

- limited to 5 family members

Session fee is due upon booking and is non-refundable. If weather doesn’t cooperate, I will provide a backup date.

Baby Sweetness | Owen | Zionsville Newborn Photographer

I love, love, love meeting new parents. It takes me back to the time (7 years ago - EEK!) of when we brought our first born home. It was exhausting and crazy and basically, a whole new world. Wait - I don’t have to go to work and I get to snuggle with little guy all day long?? Score! Wait - he sleeps only 1-2 hours at a time, he cries and poops all the time and I will get 4 hours of sleep each day? Not sure I signed up for that. (:

Brian and Jessie had it all under control, much more than I did when we had our first. Little Owen did not make a single peep our entire session and as you can see, he wins the most handsome hair award for the year (and the year just began but I’m declaring him ultimate winner already). I’m so happy they made their way to my studio and that I could capture this baby sweetness for them. Because what I do know, after being a mommy for 7 years now….it all goes by so quickly. So cliche but so true. Thanks Jessie and Brian!

Maternity + Fresh 48 | The Quinlan Family

The journey to parenthood isn’t always an easy one. And even though I don’t know details of the Quinlan’s journey, I know it was a long road. They were overjoyed to be pregnant and completely over the moon to set eyes on their new baby boy Patrick when he arrived in early January.

I had the luxury of taking their maternity photos back in the peak of fall and we had an adventure. Hands down one of my favorites maternity sessions ever. I chose a few new locations within a favorite park of mine, trying to take advantage of the amazing fall evening we had. Fall was peaking and the weather was warm for the end of October. It was so perfect for this deserving couple. Erica and Quin were so trusting and flexible in allowing me to trek them all over the park and well……the results were fantastic. Erica was especially stunning.

Fast forward to January: Patrick arrived on January 8th, one day before his due date. We had a Fresh 48 session in the hospital to document his sweet newness. Erica and Quin gazed lovingly at their baby boy and grandma and grandpa joined in with pics with their first grandbaby.

Welcome Patrick - you are so loved and you have already brought your parents and grandparents so much joy.

Fall Mini Sessions | Indianapolis Family Photographer

It’s been a few years since I’ve blogged some mini sessions. My fall mini’s have become some of my most popular offerings - selling out fast the past couple years. I love mini days - fun, quick sessions at some of my fav locations. And even though the sessions are fast, I still am able to get a variety of shots and plenty of poses in a session. After doing this awhile, I have a typical flow for each session and it helps me rock them out to get great results in a short period of time.

The mini’s featured in this blog are from last November. It was a gorgeous fall day - in the 60’s and it was the last weekend of the beautiful fall foliage. The leaves literally all fell down 4 days later. All sessions were returning clients which truly makes for a fun day. I love meeting new clients but there is something about the feeling when a past kid client comes running up hugging me and calling me by name. That is where the important relationships are created.

I typically offer a couple dates of mini sessions in the spring and I have been offering three dates in the fall. If you are not a past client of mine and want to be notified first of mini offerings, reply with your info in the comments section of this post and I will add you to my newsletter. Newsletter recipients get first dibs on mini sessions before I open them up to the general public.

Perfect Morn | The Brown Family | Zionsville Family Photographer

I was worried when I woke up on an October morning and it was SUPER foggy. I had a session scheduled and was unsure how that fog was going to impact my location. It was abnormally warm and crazy enough mosquitoes were sticking around too with the damp, warm conditions. Were the fog, mosquitoes and humidity going to ruin this session?? And the answer to that: NO! The fog created a magical ambiance. The Brown’s came dressed for success and Kensley was the cutest 10 month old model I could have asked for. Thanks to the Brown family for trusting me with your memories.
