Family

Close-knit | The Byrum Family | Indianapolis Family Photographer

I was connected to the Byrum's by the St. Luke Catholic Church Fall Fest silent auction. They were the lucky winners of my session package. I hadn't met them before since we usually attend an earlier Sunday mass but even then, our church is made up of hundreds of families.  I am so glad I had the opportunity to photograph this sweet family though.  Kara, mom, was so nice and so easy to talk to.  She is a saint in my book as she homeschools all four of their children.  Clark, dad, was very charismatic and friendly.  And the kids - they were all spunky and silly and sweet.  There is something about big Catholic families - there just is.  They have a closeness and a camaraderie.  I love it.  Check out the fun that we had on a chilly fall morning last November.

Thanks to the Byrum's for supporting the church and for a fantastic session!

Sawyer is ONE | The Manifold Family | Indianapolis Family Photographer

You may remember the Manifold family from last year.  I shot their maternity and newborn session for their sweet baby boy, Sawyer.  And the Manifold's stole my heart - loving, kind parents with a feisty, fun toddler and a newborn.  Fast forward one year later and they are still just as wonderful - now with two boys that are all over the place.  We had a very active session in my studio, to say the least.  (:  And Mr. Wesley's suspenders........so stinkin' adorable.  Can't go wrong with a little man in suspenders!

Fab Family of Five | The Digman's | Indianapolis Family Photographer

This is my family in 4 years. Two older brothers and a sister. I have a lot (of craziness and fun) to look forward to. (:

The Digman's youngest, Reese, goes to preschool with my oldest, Louis. Reese is so sweet and pretty darn adorable.  Louis is a little smittin' with her too.  I'm so thankful that we have met some awesome families from the school.  It will be sad next year when we all will split off into different school corps as some of the kids start Kindergarten.

Reese is protected by her two older brothers, Lukas and Quinn. They are BOYS - just wanting to run and play and goof around.  Taking pictures really isn't their thing....but a little bribery went a long way.  (:

Our session was on a gorgeous evening in early November - look at that amazing light!  We had a blast chasing the kids around and capturing some great pics.  Thanks Digman's!

Festive | The Hrivnak Family | Noblesville Family Photographer

The Hrivnak's most recent session was bright, festive and fun.  We spent a morning in their home in Noblesville getting into the Christmas spirit.  We had Aneesh putting ornaments on the tree and playing with the train that ran around the bottom of their Christmas tree.  I know Dustin and Esha were excited for the holiday's this year since Aneesh was old enough to start to understand Christmas.  It's so fun when kids can really get into the spirit of Christmas and you can see the glow in their eyes when they talk about Santa, and presents and cookies and on and on and on.

As always, Aneesh was a ham.  That smile......

Thank you Dustin and Esha for inviting me into your home to capture some sweet memories.  (: As always, such a pleasure.

Cora in the Fall | Carmel Family Photographer

Sometimes I get frustrated that I can't keep more up to date with my blog but with the busy fall season (and a household with a husband and 3 young kids), it's pretty much impossible.  The perk though, that I'm finding, in having a lag, is reconnecting with these sessions that I held 2 or 3 months ago.  Sometimes I stare at the pictures while editing for so long that I make myself dizzy - trying to perfect the colors, crop, and every detail.  When I step back for a few months and come back to a session to blog or update my website I get to really enjoy the images as if seeing them for the first time.  I really loved looking back at my session with Chad, Madison and baby Cora (who coincidentally was born during the same week my little Eden was born).

It was an unseasonably warm fall day and even though it was late in October, the fall foliage was hanging on (wasn't the same story last year).  Four month old Cora was a little sweetheart and a ham for the camera.  The pictures speak for themselves on how much Mom and Dad are smittin' with her.  (:  And then Betty the dog - so glad we got a few shots with her (and BTW I love when dogs have people names!).

I'm excited that I'll get to catch up with Chad, Madison and Cora at an extended family session this spring.  I can't wait to see how much Cora has grown and changed.  (:

The first couple of pics I took while wandering around the park prior to our session. I'm not much of a landscape photographer but I felt compelled to capture the calm and color of the morning.
