Daddy's Girl | The Skarbek Family | Zionsville Family Photographer

First, I hope Alyssa (mom) isn't mad at me for my title.  Two month old Addison would NOT take her eyes off of daddy during our session.  She would stare and stare at him, give him some googly eyes, smile at him and so on.  And the affection was not a one way street.  Ian (daddy) was more than smitten with his little girl.  Can we say wrapped around his finger already?

This session instantly became one of my favs.  Downtown Zionsville is so peaceful in the morning.  We met early and the sun was rising, creating a beautiful light, and the happiness of this new family of three was radiating.  I wish I could have a session like this every morning to start my day.  Perfection.

So I know we discussed Addison's affection for daddy above, but she definitely loves her mommy too.  We got some sweet shots of mom and daughter that I hope they will treasure forever.

Thanks so much to the Skarbek's for trusting me with their memories.  Don't blink, because Addison will be running around before you know it.  (:

Morning Glow | The Chambers Family | Carmel Family Photographer

First - I love photographing this family.  I only had done it once before but it was a such a pleasurable experience that I was crossing my fingers that they loved it too and would come back to me.  And score, they did.  (:  I can't explain it entirely but the Chambers family is laid back, free-spirited, engaged with each other, and really just so fun to work with.

Second, I'm a planner.  We had initially decided on downtown Carmel, back in the winter when Tara first scheduled the session. When I went to scope out the area there was so much summer construction I wanted to scream and reported back my frustration to them.  So we opted for another location that would suit the morning timeframe and was close to home for them, Founders Park.  I had never shot there before and did not have time to scope it out beforehand.  But I took a photographer friend's advice and went with it.  And I'm SO glad we did.  It was a beautiful summer morn and the light was so so yummy.  Mixed with the happy and sun-kissed Chambers family and it turned into a magical session.

Right Where She Belongs | The Lewis Family | Indianapolis Family Photographer

I first met the Lewis family in November 2015 when they hired for a mini session.  We bonded over adoption (I, myself am adopted) because they were trying to expand their family by adopting a little girl from China.  They already had two energetic and active boys but felt the calling to adopt.  I blogged about their session and their pending adoption - see it here.  Theirs is an amazing story about Monica feeling God's call to adopt from China, which is where she spent a portion of her 20's as a student traveling abroad. She saw the orphans and knew someday she'd be back.  Seriously - go back to my blog post from back then and read it - tear jerker for sure!

After our session, I kept up with their adoption journey through Facebook.  Their desire and strength was unwavering.  Adoption is a long process and you never know when that call is going to come in to say you have been matched.  Their call came last fall and they traveled to China in October to bring Elin home.

As we began our session this spring, 7 months after bringing her home, I was AMAZED by Elin's demeanor and presence.  She is an inspiring little girl - and she shows no signs (well at least to me, an outsider) that she's only been in the States less than a year.  She understands English and Monica said she's ready to start preschool this fall, just like any other soon to be 4 year old.  And most importantly, she is exactly right where she belongs.  Elin was meant to be in the Lewis' arms - it's so apparent.  God knew exactly what he was doing and I think they would agree that the wait was worth it.

So what is next for the Lewis family?  Well....they have prayed over it and have already started the process of adopting from India.  This time.....they will be bringing Bayla home.  If you want to follow their story or help them in any way (adoption is not cheap!), please reach out to me and I'll get you in touch.

Sisters | The Boyce Family | Westfield Family Photographer

This was my second session with the Boyce Family.  I shot them last fall at Coxhall Gardens and we had a blast chasing their two girls around, Lena and Nellie.  Both of the girls have birthdays in March so they chose a lifestyle-type session at their new BEAUTIFUL home for some birthday photos.  I love how Seamus and Erin (Dad and Mom) allow me to capture what unfolds with the girls rather than forcing poses.  They had fun chatting it up,. running around, playing on the playset, piling on Mom and Dad, and blowing bubbles.  Not to mention they had the perfect sunset-facing backyard for photos - such yummy light.  (:

Thanks to the Boyce's for once again choosing me to photograph their family and kiddos.  I truly love documenting this fun time in your lives!  Enjoy!

A Whole Lot of Beautiful | The Robinson Family | Indianapolis Family Photographer

Ron and Coya Robinson were blessed with four beautiful girls that now range from ages 13 to 20.  And they are boasting with pride over them (rightfully so!).  The oldest, Chelsea, is currently a sophomore at the University of Kentucky studying mechanical engineering and is an RA in her dorm.  Paige is a senior in high school and is the current title holder for Indiana Teen USA, Chanler is a freshman in high school, runs track and loves her horse Red.  The youngest of the group, Paris, is a seventh grader and loves dance.  The sisters were so fun to watch together during our session.  Chelsea doesn't make it home often because of her demanding college schedule, so they are all giggles and smiles when they are all bantering back and forth.

Our session was held on the couple's old farm property in Trader's Point.  I LOVE this location and the old buildings and the rustic feel it has.  They painted the barn red last fall and it's stunning, just like this family.  When browsing through the photos, you'll find yourself wondering how can there possibly be so much beautiful in one family.  And the posing - they were awesome at striking a pose with minimal direction from myself and letting their personalities shine.  Enjoy!

Thanks to the Robinson's for one fantastic and FUN session!
